Here and there we sit and stare

Not at each other but anywhere

You know my lips burn to touch yours

But not a word is spoken,

As if neither of us care.

You know I long and long only for you

Every smile of yours is a sunrise anew

Yet I’ve promised to stay on my side of the line

Rest assured my love,

I’ll keep our friendship true.

Smile for me, and I’ll smile for thee

And together we’ll laugh merrily

I’ll always be there, waiting for you

Each dawn I will wake

Longing for you silently
